Getting motivated and even excited about hitting a heavy bag is
not difficult. Most, if not all, of us have some pent-up aggression
and frustration just itching to be released. Hitting a heavy bag not
only relieves stress but also results in an amazing workout. This
is especially true if we incorporate both our hands and feet as in
kickboxing. We are basically using all the muscles in our body as
they were designed.
Whatever kick, punch or combination we strike the bag with, we
never need to worry about the bag hitting us back. That is not to
say we can’t get hurt using a heavy bag. Punching and kicking
wildly at the bag without consideration to proper technique, body
mechanics and hand protection will almost surely result in some
type of injury.
